At a young age,
Andrei Pehar was already a U.S. Chess Federation rated player. He further honed his strategic skills through
years spent studying Japanese martial arts. Applying what he learned in both worlds, Andrei went on to
consult for investment firms and quickly gained a reputation within trading circles. Friends and foes
alike began to call him the "Black Knight".
Historically, black knights refused to wear the colors of any king. Some robbed traveling aristocrats in order to help the poor (like Robin Hood). Andrei is particularly fond of this analogy because, in his words, "as a currency trader, in a manner of speaking I make my living by electronically robbing banks." And Andrei has a track record of giving a part of his winnings to charity, as well as training and empowering others so that they can take charge of their financial futures.
Among his inspirations Andrei counts George Soros - the legendary trader, open society advocate, and philanthropist who once came close to breaking the Bank of England by earning a billion dollars in a single day. Today Andrei is actively involved with the European Council on Foreign Relations (a group founded by Soros) as well as Survival International, an organization which supports indigenous people and human rights.
In addition to his role as Sr. Currency Strategist for fxKnight.com and a series of private funds, he is also a regular contributor to FXstreet, DailyFX, ForexFactory.com and BabyPips.com He is also a highly sought-after consultant, speaker, and personal success coach.
But this website is not meant to be about the Black Knight, rather a resource for all the forex knights out there, warriors preparing to do battle with the markets.
